When to Workout - A.M. or P.M.?

To lose weight, we know we have to workout. But, how often do we get accurate information on how long or how often we're supposed to workout? Rarely.

Let me start by telling you that the 30 minute recommendation from the U.S. Surgeon General is
not going to cut it.

Don't get me wrong, 30 minutes is better than nothing, but it is not nearly enough to help someone lose weight. 30 minutes is a better guideline for someone who is trying to maintain their current weight.

Anyone attempting to lose weight should workout
5 times a week, for at least one hour each session.

Do not workout more than 2 hours at a time as this is stressful to your body and it causes it to release cortisol, a nasty, fat storing stress hormone.

5 one hour workouts are plenty to get the weight falling off.

It is up to you what type of workout you decide to do. Just be sure to incorporate some resistance and plenty of cardio.

I recommend circuit training.
It burns
3 times more calories than straight cardio. I love it because it combines resistance training and cardio all in one workout, and burns calories while also toning muscle!

Regardless of the type of exercise you choose, when should you workout? It does not matter if it is in the a.m. or p.m., as long as you are energized enough to push yourself. Do not work out within 2-3 hours before bed, either, as it could make it hard for you to sleep with the rush of energy from exercising.
