You should workout on an empty stomach-

False! There are 2 problems with not eating before a workout.
1. You have little or no energy, and 2. You will metabolize your own muscle instead of fat.
So basically any workout you do is useless and potentially harmful!

Please! Eat before a workout, get energy, burn fat. Simple!

Crunches will give me abs-

It depends! If you have a lot of weight to lose and you are doing crunches for abs, lunges for hot legs, or pushups for sexy arms, you are wasting your time!
You can
not spot reduce fat. You must burn fat overall by doing cardio before you can begin to see definition of any kind.
Your body determines where and when the fat comes off.

However, if you have little or no weight to lose, these exercises will help.

Losing more than 2 pounds a week is not safe-

False! As long as it is done in a healthy way, diet and exercise, it is perfectly fine. The more you workout, the more weight you will lose.
It does not matter how fast or slow the weight comes off - just do it the healthy way.

Fruit is too high in sugar and is not healthy-

False! While some fruits, like pineapple, other tropical fruits and grapes may be higher in sugar than other fruits, they are still okay to eat.
Just limit these kinds of fruits to 1 serving a day.
They are fine to eat because they are
natural simple sugars that break down in the body more slowly than sugar in a candy bar would.
They are relatively low in calories, and are packed with essential vitamins like A, C, K and also antioxidants. They also contain fiber, and lots of other good stuff. So go ahead and enjoy the sweet taste of fruit.

Sitting in a sauna or working out with plastic bags under your clothes makes you lose weight fast!-

Super false! All these methods do is make you sweat excessively, meaning you are losing water weight - not fat. Same goes for working out in a sweatshirt. Doing any of them can become dangerous if you lose too much sweat or become overheated. You can cause an electrolyte imbalance, become dehydrated or suffer from heatstroke.

Besides, as soon as you drink fluids, the weight will come right back!
Why waste your time?!

You should wear loose fitting comfortable clothes while exercising.

Lifting weights make women bulk up-

False! Women should not be afraid of working out with weights.
Women simply cannot bulk up the way men do. Men have a much higher level of testosterone than women, and that is why men bulk up.
Women
should work with weights because it builds bone mass and cuts the risk of osteoporosis! Weights are good!

Time to debunk some myths!

Muscle weighs more than fat-

False! A pound is a pound is a pound!
They weigh the same. Where people get confused is how muscle is more
dense than fat. Actual fat is much bulkier and lumpy, taking up more volume compared to lean muscle.
